The GBS-R Gate Valve was designed as a manual valve for use in high pressure, large bore applications. This valve incorporates a lower balancing stem and unique ball screw mechanism for ease of operation in the field. It is value-engineered for reliability, low torque, ease of operation and service with many of the same features as the GBS Gate Valve, including the gate and seat design. Features 01.Bearingcap grease fitting allows positive bearing lubrication. 02.Positivemetal-to-metal sealing (gate-to-seat and seat-to-body). 03.Thelower stem balances the pressure thrust on the upper stem to reduce operatingtorque, prevents body cavity pressure build-up during operation and providesposition indication. 04.Theupper stem and lower stem can be back seated to allow either stem packing to bereplaced, under pressure if necessary. (For safety purposes, it’s suggested toreplace packing after releasing pressure). 05.Inaddition to the metal-to-metal seal between the seats and valve body, twospring loaded, non-elastomeric lip-seals provide maximum protection againstintrusion of particle contaminates into the valve cavity, improve gate and seatservice life, prevent damage to the body-to-seat seal face, and improve valve performanceat very low pressure. 06.Pressure-energizedmetal-to-metal bonnet seal. 07.TheGBS-R Gate Valve has grease fittings located on the downstream side of theupper stem and lower stem back seat shoulders for lubricating stem and thevalve cavity. 08.Bi-directionaldesign provides flow direction versatility and increased service life. 09.Thestem packing is a pressure energized seal and can withstand severe temperaturesand fluids. It is constructed of a non-elastomeric material that offers a lowcoefficient of friction.
